"As our district and state encounters new accountability measures and exams, such as PARCC, does it make sense to adjust our calendar?  Should we start before or after Labor Day?  Should we have one vacation in March and not in February and April?  Should we take the vacation weeks and create four day weeks instead of two full vacation weeks? Will our students and families benefit academically and emotionally from potential changes?"

  • Community Members Sought to Serve on "Naming of School Entities Subcommittee" [Nominee: William "Bill" Cunis] The Ashland School Committee has received a nomination to honor an Ashland Community member (William “Bill” Cunis) by naming a school district entity and/or memorial in his honor. In accordance with School Committee policy, a subcommittee shall be formed to review nomination and return a recommendation to the School Committee.  The Naming of School District Entities Subcommittee will consist of a minimum of three members of the community, two school staff members designated by the Superintendent, and one member of Town Government, as designated by the Town Manager.  To help us with this most important decision, we are seeking representatives from the community to serve on this committee.   • School Start Times Committee's Resource Site Now Online The resource site contains many articles and other media sources for review by Ashland community members surrounding the issue of delaying high school start times. Information will continue to be added on a regular basis.
