Starting a New Club
Before a new club can be considered for an advisor stipend, it must complete the following process:
- Identify a faculty member who is willing to serve as the club’s advisor.
- Complete and submit the New Club Request Form to the building principal.
- New Club Request Form
- If initially approved, operate the club for at least three months during non-contracted hours. At Ashland High School, the principal may permit the club to meet during X-Block.
- Maintain records of meeting dates, student participation, and club activities.
- After the three-month period, submit the participation information to the administration for final review.
Approval to operate a club does not guarantee that an advisor stipend will be funded. To be considered for funding in the following fiscal year, the club must receive final approval by December 31. Funding is not available during the year in which the stipend is first requested because it must be included in the subsequent budget. If funded, the position will be assigned an appropriate stipend tier and ratio.
