Congratulations, Class of 2024!
We are excited to celebrate the incomparable class of 2024 during Class Day on Friday, June 7 at 10 a.m. and the graduation ceremony that evening at 6 p.m. As we approach these events, our schedule and many other details will be updated here.

BAG POLICY
- Prohibited Items
For safety purposes, the following will not be allowed into the gym:
Food and drinks, except for bottled water
Cigarettes/vapes
Alcohol
Laser pointers
Noisemakers or air horns
Drones
Balloons, confetti, powder. large posters and streamers
Glitter (thrown, displayed, and/or worn)
Firearms, explosives or weapons of any kind
Any item deemed inappropriate for the event by APS staff
NOTE: Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in ejection from the venue. - Prohibited Items

EXITING AFTER the EVENT
Guests are asked to remain seated until all graduates have exited via the recessional. Graduates are encouraged to meet up with their families and guests outside the gymnasium.

PARKING
Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Accessible parking spots as well as a designated drop-off area are located in front of the building.
Student parking will be reserved for students driving themselves.

PHOTOS
Lifetouch is the official photographer. Families wishing to order and purchase pictures will be given more details as we approach the event.

SEATING
There is plenty of seating in the AHS gymnasium for all guests at class day and graduation.
Please keep in mind that some sections of seating may be designated as reserved to accommodate our ASL, ADA, and other guests. Please ask for assistance upon arrival so an APS student volunteer can guide you to the appropriate reserved sections. Families needing ADA or ASL support should contact Jessica Blank at jblank@ashland.k12.ma.us.

SENIOR / GUEST ARRIVAL
Seniors should report to the graduation site one hour before the ceremony starts. Seniors must check in with campus staff and line up in alphabetical order to be ready to enter the venue on time.
Guest doors will open one hour before the event time but may vary according to the event.

SENIOR ATTIRE
Seniors must wear a graduation cap and gown. They may also wear school-issued Honor Cords and campus-approved stoles.
Caps can be decorated, as long as they meet school guidelines for appropriate content. Decorations must lie flat.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS
Graduates must be on their best behavior upon arrival, during and after the event. Graduates are expected to remain seated until the end of the ceremony and cannot leave early before the event ends.

TRANSPORTATION
Students can drive to, or be dropped off at, Ashland High School one hour before the ceremony starts. Student parking will be reserved for students driving in the front lot next to the main entrance.

VIEWING OPTIONS
Both Class Day and the graduation ceremony will be held in the AHS gym. We do not require tickets or limit the number of attendees.
If you’re unable to attend in person, both Class Day and the graduation ceremony will be broadcast by WACATV. You can find the WACATV livestream on YouTube and Facebook.

Are seats assigned at Ashland High School for the graduation ceremony?
Seating is general admission - meaning all seats are available to guests as they arrive.

How early can we get there?
Graduates and guests will be admitted 60 minutes before the start of the graduation ceremony. Graduates will enter Ashland High School through [DIRECTIONS] and park at [LOCATION]. Graduates should follow instructions provided by their campus administration.

Will there be a graduation rehearsal?
There will be a rehearsal and meeting on campus. Graduation instructions will also be sent to students beforehand.

Are there any protocols or requirements for the graduates that need to be followed?
According to the Ashland Public Schools' Student Code of Conduct, a student's participation in the district's graduation ceremony is optional. For graduating seniors opting to attend the graduation ceremony, we advise and remind student of the following:
• During the graduation ceremonies, graduates must remain seated at all times, unless directed to stand;
• Graduates must comply with regular school rules regarding electronics, including cell phones and cameras;
• Conduct judged by the principal as being disruptive to the graduation ceremony will be addressed accordingly (e.g. removal from the event and/or withholding of the diploma pending a parent conference).

Can I take pictures, or will pictures be taken during the ceremony of the graduates?
Due to fire code regulations, photos can not be taken from the aisles, but may be taken from the guest seats. Professional photographers from Lifetouch Photography will be taking pictures of each graduate.

How can family and friends watch the graduation ceremony if they cannot attend?
WACA TV will live stream each graduation on their YouTube channel, so it can be viewed around the world. Once the live stream is done, the recording will be available to view on their YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/WACATV/Ashland.

Can we stay and take pictures after the ceremony?
Families and guests are welcome to take pictures after the graduation ceremony. School rules are expected to be followed at all times.

Where can guests park?
For your convenience, parking is available in the parking lot at Ashland High School. Guests will be directed to parking.
