SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING
Social and emotional learning is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions.
At Ashland Public Schools, we are committed to cultivating both the academic and social-emotional growth of each student to help them develop into self-motivated, resilient, life-long learners.
While there is no typical day for a school counselor, they can help provide strategies for academic success, support in challenging times or advice for the future. For staff resources, please visit the Ashland Staff SEL website.
We believe it is essential for families and schools to work together to address the social-emotional development of each student. Please visit the Family SEL website to learn more about how we address SEL as a district and access resources you can use at home.
