Backpacks and Lockers
Students are allowed to carry backpacks at AHS, and all students are assigned a locker. Students can rent a lock for their locker through the front office for $5 or bring their own lock and provide the office with the combination or copy of the key.
-
Counseling Department Appointments
Our counseling staff will return to the office from August 20–23. If you would like to set up a meeting with your counselor regarding schedule changes, contact the high school counseling office at jblank@ashland.k12.ma.us or (508) 881-0176 to arrange an appointment.

Freshman and New Student Orientation
The new student orientation will be held August 22 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Join the AHS administration and counselors for fun activities that will help new students get to know the building as well as our culture and expectations. This event is for students only. Students who are not able to attend are welcome to stop by and orient themselves to the building at other times between 8 a.m.-2:45 p.m. any time after the new student orientation. Stop by the office and introduce yourself!
-
iParent
At Ashland High School, we use a software called iParent to communicate student performance over the year, including progress reports and report cards. If you have not already done so, please visit our website and signup for iParent.
-
School Hours
Our school hours are 8:20 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
The first bell will ring at 8:10 a.m. Students gather in the back lobby/cafeteria area until that time. The building opens and breakfast is served at 7:40 a.m. Students who are dropped off by a parent or guardian should be dropped at the cafeteria doors in the back of the building. Buses drop off in the front. Student drivers can get a parking pass at any time from the front office. Seniors painting their parking spot must have their pass to participate.
-
Student Schedules
All current Ashland Public Schools students, grades 9–12, will be able to view their schedule on iStudent and iParent on August 12. Any current Ashland High School student who does not recall how to access iStudent can email the main office at ahsmainoffice@ashland.k12.ma.us to have their account reset (Members of the Class of 2028 and other new students who do not have an account will receive their iStudent log-in information at New Student Orientation as well as a hard copy of their schedule in the mail.)
It is important to note that the schedules are not 100% finalized, and there will be some changes as we try to balance out class sizes and meet the needs of all students. Blank spaces in the schedule indicate a study hall or a missing class. All students should carry at least 6/6.5 credits. Study hall assignments will be reflected on schedules by the first day of school.

Summer Work
Please review the Summer 2024 assignments page to check if any of your classes require summer preparation. All students have to choose at least one book from the list compiled by the English department.
-
Supply Lists
AHS does not have a school supply list. Teachers will share with students what is needed for individual classes throughout the first couple of days. Students should plan to start the year with their Chromebook, a notebook and writing utensils (pens and pencils).
