  • Half Day Explorers

    School's out early on March 26–28! Pack a lunch and join the Recreation Department for an afternoon of fun. Students in grades K–5 will be picked up from school at dismissal. After a quick stop at the Community Center for lunch (packed from home), we are off for a fun adventure. On March 26, we'll visit Build A Bear. On March 27, off to Dave & Busters. On March 28, we'll head to WNDR Museum in Boston. Join us for one day for $80 or all three days for $220. Pick-up is at the Community Center between 5–6 p.m. Register for the Half Day Explorers at AshlandMa.MyRec.com.

  • Early Release Beach Party

    Join the Ashland Recreation Department for a Day at the Beach on the next early release day, on March 15. Students in grades K–5 will be picked up from school at dismissal by Rec Staff and travel to the Beach House in Natick for a fun afternoon at the beach! Pick-up is 5–6 p.m. at the Ashland Community Center. Cost is $75. Register for the Early Release Beach Party online at AshlandMa.MyRec.com.

  • Safe Sitter® Training

    Safe Sitter® babysitting classes have been preparing young teens to care for younger children for over 40 years. Students will learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies, learn skills such as choking rescue as well as Life & Business Skills to set students up for success now and in the future. Class will be held on March 8 from 3:15–5:45 p.m. at the Ashland Community Center. Open to students in grades 5 and above. Registration is $75. Register online at AshlandMa.MyRec.com.

  • Teen Oscar Party on March 9

    Come dressed to impress for the Ashland Public Library's Teen Oscars Night and watch the Oscar-nominated film sensation: the Barbie movie! Celebrate the award season by walking our red carpet, watching the Barbie movie (PG-13), taking advantage of our popcorn bar and posing for pictures like a VIP in our photo station. Everyone dressed for the red carpet or Barbie will be entered into a prize raffle! Our Oscars will take place from 1–3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9! The movie will start promptly at 1:15 p.m. Dressing up is not required, but it is encouraged!

  • Participate in the Town of Ashland Comprehensive Plan

    The Town of Ashland is embarking on a process to update our comprehensive plan that will set the vision for the next 20 years. This covers everything from open space, housing, transportation, economic development, sustainability, recreation and education. Resident participation is crucial to ensure this plan reflects our community’s values and aspirations. To learn more, please sign up for updates about the comprehensive plan here or join us for our monthly meetings on the third Thursday of every month (in-person or via Zoom.)

  • SMOC Head Start Enrollment is Now Open

    SMOC Head Start is now recruiting children for the 2023-24 school year! Head Start provides comprehensive early education and support services for children ages three to five and their families. Family income must be at or below the federal poverty guideline, though some exceptions may be made for families moderately over these amounts. Children must be three years of age by the Kindergarten cutoff date in their community.

  • Safe@Home

    Safe@Home is ideal for students who have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers, such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Class will be held from 4:30–6:30 p.m. on March 12 at the Ashland Community Center. Open to students in grades 3–6. Registration fee is $65. Register for Safe @ Home at AshlandMa.MyRec.com.

  • Spring Band and Choral Music Concert Season

    Mark your calendars! The Ashland Public Schools spring band and choral music concert season kicks off on March 5 and continues through the end of May. Come on out and support our youth musicians. All concerts are free and open to the public. Visit ashlandmusic.org for more details.

  • Pancake Breakfast on March 10

    Ashland Boy Scouts Troop 232 will host a Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction on March 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Ashland VFW at 311 Pleasant Street. Tickets are $8 per person or $20 per family. Please consider bringing a non-perishable item for the Town's food bank.

  • LEGO Donation Drive

    Donate and bring a smile to a child! Help FIRST LEGO League robotics team Goofy Gyros collect gently used or new LEGOS or funds to buy them for kids in need, hospitalized kids and local after-school programs. Your support is invaluable and can truly make a significant difference to a child! Visit hackclub.com to make a tax-deductible monetary donation.
